Port William Youth Group celebrated ten years in existence last Saturday with a fun day at the Youth Centre. Since its creation, the group has gone from strength to strength with 40 young people now actively involved each week.
Pauline Watkins, from the Port William Development Trust thanked all the volunteers for their hard work and the also the children themselves for making the youth group such a success. She thanked all the funders that helped made the vision of a youth centre in the village possible, including BBC Children in Need, Leader Plus, Awards for All, Dumfries and Galloway Council, Lloyds TSB, The Robertson Trust and various community groups in the village.
Rose Christie, who opened the youth centre with her late husband Robin in 2006, cut the celebration cake.
