'˜Rage II' road-show tests skills
Next Friday, July 22, will see the return of a road-show event for young and new drivers. It will take place at Graham Brown Car Sales, Holmpark Industrial Estate, Newton Stewart, between 7.30pm and 9pm.
The event, now in its second year, is organised by Constable Billy Dodds from the Police Service of Scotland’s Prevention and Interventions Team at Newton Stewart Police Station.
Constable Dodds said: “We have decided to run this event for another year to interact with further new and young drivers. Sadly, we continue to see a rise in complaints in relation to inconsiderate driving, primarily carried out by young drivers. We want young drivers to enjoy their driving experience however we will respond to issues raised by members of the public and those who cannot or will not change their driving behaviour may be the subject to fixed penalty notices or reported to the Procurator Fiscal. At the event we will reiterate the pitfalls many new and young drivers may face and remind them that wrong decisions will have consequences. We will also see the return of Eddie McGaw, McConechy’s Tyres, who will provide the young drivers with an insight into basic car care and maintenance.”
