Whithorn Primary School Parent Council are delighted that their project for much needed improvements to the nursery garden has been shortlisted for the Tesco Bags of Help initiative held across Scotland, in association with groundwork.
Aspokesperson for the parent council said; “We are one of three community groups and projects which will be awarded a grant of £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 – all raised from the 5p bag charge. greenspace scotland are working with Groundwork to support Scottish communities. Bags of Help offers community groups and projects in each of Tesco’s regions across the UK a share of revenue generated from the 5p charge levied on single-use carrier bags.
“We ask that the public will please vote in the Stranraer store for our fantastic project at Whithorn nursery from 31st October till 13th November! The children really need a garden they can play and learn in and enjoy for years to come! As a rural school and nursery every vote will count and we would be delighted to receive your support, thank you.”
