This will now cause a by-election at the beginning of August.
Applicants will need to be registered with Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Returning Officer by Friday, June 24 at 5pm.

Applicants must be over 16-years of age and reside in the community council area they want to represent.
Community councils give local people a say about what goes on in their area. They are not part of local government but play a vital role in representing the views of their community to the local authority and other public bodies.
There are 107 community councils across Dumfries and Galloway.
They have a great deal of scope to get involved in local issues and develop local projects or activities. There are different ways to get involved in your local community council including becoming a community council member.
