Six rinks from the Wigtownshire Bowling Association travelled to Glasgow last Saturday to play West Lothian at Cardonald Bowling Green in the semi-final of the Scottish Counties Championships.
After lunch the two teams got the match started and the West Lothian bowlers went into a early lead by eight shots, but at the half-way mark, the Wigtownshire players had pulled back the shots and took a five shot lead. They then kept control of the match right till the end for a marvellous victory, winning 128 to 109 and securing their place in the final against Lanarkshire South.
After five ends played, Wigtownshire 24 West Lothian 32, after 10 ends 60-55, after 15 ends 98 -77, after 18 ends 106-95 and after 21 ends 128-109.
On Saturday, July 18, Wigtownshire travel to Seafield Bowling Green, Ayr, to play Lanarkire South in the final of the Scottish Counties Championships.
