THE Galloway Province held their annual knockout competition for the Mochrum Cup last week at Stranraer Ice Rink.
Eight rinks took part and the first games were played on Tuesday with the semi final and final on Wednesday. Once again the competition was sponsored by Frazer Hare of Alex McCleary Funeral Directors, Newton Stewart.
In the semi finals, Kerr Fisher defeated Louise Kerr’s Glasserton rink while Dick Adams beat Robert Cannon’s Kirkcowan rink.
This took us to a cracking final with both rinks playing well. At the 6th end with the score at 2-1 for Dick he stole a single. Then Kerr blanked the 7th but Dick kept the 8th end clean and in the end made 2 to win 5-1.
