Nithsdale Wanderers can consolidate their place at the top of the league going into the festive season break when they have Crichton as their visitors to Sanquhar on Saturday.
Striker Roman Soltys is on fire at present for Nithsdale and could add to his tally in this encounter.
Crichton have had an indifferent first half of the season but are capable of holding the home side although Nithsdale will go into the contest as favourites to take the three points to keep them ahead of Wigtown and Bladnoch and St Cuthbert Wanderers.
Saints are at home to Abbey Vale for a match they should win on present form and, if Nithsdale slip up, the Kirkcudbright side could cash in and move to the top with Wigtown and Bladnoch playing cup football.
In the other league match, Creetown are at home to Heston Rovers in a game the visitors will be favourites to take the three points from. But as shown by Lochar Thistle last time out, they can slip up on the day and the home side have the young players who could take advantage of any slackness in the Heston defence.
The Potts Cup semi-final will be played at Blairmount between local rivals Newton Stewart and Wigtown and Bladnoch and with the Trammondford Park side going through last weekend to the League Cup final they will be keen to make it an early season double.
On the other hand, Newton Stewart seem to have found the way to goal in recent matches and although they had three scored against them last weekend against Mid-Annandale they still managed to overcome a two-goal deficit to fight back and take the points.
However, being a cup tie means that nothing before matters for much so a good close encounter is expected with possibly more that the regulation 90 minutes being required to find a winner.
