Whithorn Braveheart boxer Tyler Jolly has just returned from the south of France after a five day training camp in the town of Bugeat, north of Toulouse.
The trip was organised by Team Scotland in preparation for the upcoming GB championships in Glasgow next Friday, May 1.
Tyler said: “The facility’s were amazing, we were training three sessions during each day, including strength and fitness training and also various technical sparring sessions. We were able to use ice baths after each session which was a novelty. Our French hosts were very hospitable and everyone enjoyed the friendly banter between sessions. The Saturday evening resulted in the 10 Scottish boxers competing against their French opponents in a gala event hosted by the mayor, unfortunately for Team Scotland the French team won eight bouts to two. The majority of the decisions were very close, but the French boxers hands were raised winners, might have been something to do with five French judges!”
