The dominoes league champions from the Rhins and the Machars met at the Crown in Glenluce for the bragging rights to who is the best team in Wigtownshire.
In the end, the Swan A left their Machars hosts under no illusion of that title as they annhilaited the Crown 10-2.
In the first game of singles, ex-Crown player Rab Gardner played Crown captain Iain Patterson with Rab getting the Swan off to a great start by winning 5-3.
Lee Pettingale secured the same score against Alisdair Brookes. In game three, Robin Hannah grannied Alan Anderson 5-0. In game four, the Crown scored their only singles success when Craig Fullerton beat Davy McGuire 5-3. In game five, Tuma Thompson played Fergie McWilliam and trounced him 5-2.
Game six was the only game that went to the wire but Davy McCurdy defeated Bobby Graham 5-4. In game seven, Ian Lightbody walloped Wullie Rennie 5-2 and, in the final game, between the two Johns, Jock McCurdy defeated Irish John 5-3 for the Swan to build up a 7-1 lead at half-time.
In the first game of the pairs, the crown scored a rare success as Fergie and Bobby defeated the old guard of Robin and Lee 5-3 but the Swan rallied as Davy and Davy produced the same scoreline against Iain and Alisdair. And in game 11, brothers Jock and Rab also had a 5-3 success against Alan and Wullie. In the final pairings, Ian and Tuma blew away Dul and Irish John for the Swan to beat the Machars champions.
The second set of games looks like a formality but Swan captain Ian Lightbody said he would take nothing for granted as there is nothing more dangerous than a wounded beast and would give the Crown the respect that every team is afforded when they visit the Swan.
