SOME people can curl for 60 years and never score an eight-ender but four junior girls from Stranraer Ice Rink have done it after curling for just six years!
Katie Wright, Lauren Morgan, Jenni Cannon and Rachel Mills, all teenagers, scored a perfect end last Sunday when playing in the Lions Junior Competition at the Dumfries Ice Bowl.
Skip Katie said afterwards: “I still can’t take it in. I just decided that we would draw the house at that end and when it was my last stone I could see half of the only opposition stone left in the house. I played to take it out and stay and thankfully I made it.
“We were seven down at the time!”
