The fixtures scheduled to be played last weekend were all South of Scotland League matches but all were postponed due to the weather except the contest at St Mary’s Park, Kirkcudbright which went ahead with St Cuthbert Wanderers beating Dumfries YMCA by nine goals to one.

Bottom placed YMCA though played well throughout the first half and went into the break only trailing by a single goal scored in the thirty-sixth minute by Saints Terry Jardine. The home side, however, came out for the second half with all guns blazing and within two minutes of the re-start scored twice through prolific goal-scorer Roman Soltys before Jardine added a fourth. The visitors scored a consolation goal when Gregor Paterson found the net but Soltys completed his hat-trick in the sixty-third minute from the penalty spot after he had been brought down and two minutes later scored his fourth and Saints sixth.

Michael Houston added another followed by a double from Philip Middlemass to complete the scoring to send Saints four points clear at the top of the league table.
