Reigning Scottish Rally Champion Jock Armstrong begins the defence of his title in the forests around Inverness on Saturday.

The Castle Douglas driver, with navigator Paula Swinscoe, heads an impressive entry of more than 120 cars for the Snowman Rally, the first round of the 2016 ARR Craib MSA Scottish Rally Championship.

The pair will be hoping to start their campaign in similar style to last season when they won the Highland event with a sixteen-second margin in their Earsman/Holy Socks Subaru Impreza.

Said Holy Socks founder Margaret Wyllie: “The Snowman is characterised by fast, flowing stages – but unpredictable weather, along with changeable surface conditions, make it one of the most challenging rallies on the Scottish calendar. You’re never quite sure what’s round the next corner. Jock and Paula showed twelve months ago that they can cope with difficult conditions, so here’s hoping for further success”.
