Penninghame Curling Club won the Biggar Cup, sponsored by Colin Dewar of Penkiln Timber & Builders Merchants, at Stranraer Ice Rink on Wednesday.
The club finished nine shots up overall and the winning rink was Bill Scott, Ian Brunton, Michael Dunlop and Lillian Brunton.
At the close of play which took place over two sessions, Galloway Province President Jim Cannon congratulated the winners from Penninghame and asked Colin Dewar from the sponsors to hand over the trophy and prizes of £20 McMillan Hotel vouchers to the winners. Skip of the winning team, Bill Scott, thanked his rink for playing so well durimng their game, adding that it was good for Penninghame to get some success during the season. Both Bill and Jim thanked Colin Dewar for Penkiln Timber and Builders Merchants for his continued sponsorship of the Biggar Cup.
Penninghame were nine shots up overall and Wigtown Curling Club were the runners-up on three shots up. Glasserton and Kirkmabreck finished on zero, Kirkcowan were -3 and Minnigaff were -9.
