The end of the season was a busy time for Dumfries ASC with swimmers competing in the first Scottish Summer Meet.
Swimmers who do not qualify in an event for the British Summer Championships are considered for selection to the relevant Home Country Meet.
Swimmers were invited to participate in this event based on long course times achieved at accredited meets within the qualification window and 15-year old Lewis MacLeod from Stranraer qualified for four finals and took gold in the 200m backstroke,
It was a great achievement for the swimmers to qualify for the meet, and something for others to work towards when the new season begins in late August. It has been another fantastic year for the club with several swimmers qualifying for high level meets. The club has swimmers ranging from seven years to older swimmers competing in the masters.
If you would like to know more about the club, including sponsorship, come along to the Ice Bowl on a Thursday night (club night) and speak to a member of the committee, or contact the club via email@example.com.
