Kirkcudbright Gun Club opens for season

KIRKCUDBRIGHT Club opened the season at Compstonend on Sunday 10th April in glorious spring sunshine with a four event shoot.

With a field of 24 guns there was keen competition and at the end of the day S Allan of Dumfries was Top Gun with a score of 145/150, after a shoot off with R Miller of Ochiltree. Members’ High Gun, for the top aggregate score for Events 2 and 3, was David McMath of Castle Douglas, a junior, on 74/75, again after a shoot off with R Smith of Newton Stewart. Reid Smith also won the Veterans trophy and David McMath, the Juniors.

The leading scores in the individual events were:-

Event 1; B Renwick, G Carson, A Carson(30); J Little, D Brown, S Allan, S Nichol(29).

The winner of the side trap was Douglas Brown of Newton Stewart.
