There is a full programme of South of Scotland fixtures scheduled to be played this Saturday which includes some very interesting matches.
Leaders Edusport Academy should have enough in within their ranks to see off any challenge that Abbey Vale can provide but they will probably have to be at their best to do so as Vale are never an easy team to beat even allowing for Edu having home advantage.
Second placed Heston Rovers will be confident of taking the three point from their match against Dumfries YMCA where a goal glut could see them overtaking Edu on goal difference.
Crichton who are having a good early run of form will be looking to hold onto their third place following their contest against Nithsdale Wanderers at Hospital Park while Lochar Thistle could take the three points in their match against Newton Stewart. A young Newton team under new management are taking time to settle into their stride this season and Lochar have hit the ground running and are only a point behind the leading group. The Creesiders though will be hoping to turn the corner and will as usual give their all to take something from this encounter.
Present champions Wigtown and Bladnoch should be too strong and experienced for Mid-Annandale although home advantage could well see the Lockerbie side running their visitors close.
St Cuthbert Wanderers with two games in hand to the leading group should manage to overcome neighbours Fleet Star at St Mary’s Park to keep up their challenge at the top and to maintain their unbeaten run of form.
Creetown play hosts to Upper Annandale at Castle Cary Park for what looks like an evenly balanced match with home advantage probably playing a part in the final outcome and the destination of the points.
