Golfer Liz Dodds recorded her first hole in one on Sunday, August 24, while playing in the Silver Divot at Kirkcudbright Golf Club.
Her hole was the ninth and she struck the perfect seven wood.
The Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities climaxed last Sunday with the playing of the Silver Divot. Fifty-two players contested this mixed pairs Greensomes Competition and returned a barrage of very low scores. Lizzy and Alan Shamash came out on top with Liz Dodds and Colin Marriot runners-up from Janet and Bill Roff in third place.
The winning score a wonderful 63.8.
Club Captain Bill Roff was delighted to see the club house filled to capacity for the prizegiving. He thanked all who had contributed to the weekend of golf, but in particular to head greenkeeper John Houston and match secretary Michael McFadyen. A special mention to Shona and the club house staff who had “walked that extra mile” over a very long weekend.
