THE Eddie McGaw Memorial trophy was won for the third year in a row by Fleet Star on Sunday following a gruelling game for the over-35s.
The annual match between Fleet and Ferrytoon over-35s kicked off at The Hollow, Creetown, and could have had a different ending if Eddie McGaw hadn’t missed a penalty, which he said he was “gutted” about.
The game, usually played during gala week, drew a smaller crowd than usual but thanks to all who supported it and to those who travelled for the occasion.
The Ferrytoon player of the year awards are at Auchenlarie on October 15 with a hypnotist and disco. Contact Eddie for details on 01671 402148.
