On a gloriously sunny day two Galloway Harriers, Rachel Christie and Ailsa Taggart, took part in the Great Women’s 10k in Glasgow.
This was a new route for the event and started off near to Kelvingrove Gallery taking the 6000 women runners past Glasgow University down to the Riverside Museum, crossing the Clyde at Bell’s Bridge and then back over the river at the Squinty Bridge.
A welcome ‘run-through’ shower cooled the runners at 7.5k as temperatures reached 24 degrees. The route continued through Finnieston finishing back in Kelvingrove Park.
Rachel completed the course in 45.31 and Ailsa in 1.01.14.
