Whithorn Braveheart boxer Tyler Jolly in currently in St Petersburg, Russia, representing Scotland at the World Junior championships.
Here is Boxing Scotland’s report on his first bout in the 63kg division against Badri Khutsishvili from Georgia:
Tyler stamped his authority on the bout from the opening bell, unleashing hard, fast & aggressive combination punching highlighting his desire to get his first win under the belt. Great tempo coupled with his obvious will to win saw the Scotsman control the majority of the contest. Tyler simply got better as the bout matured, with both accuracy of punch and ringcraft improving throughout. The final 2 minutes saw Tyler execute a solid tactical performance, nullifying anything the Georgian produced, whilst landing with whipping punches and slick defensive action. Tyler now moves through to the next preliminary round with a clinical win under his belt.
Tyler’s next bout is Tuesday afternoon against Levonyan Sipan from Armenia.
