There is a full programme of South of Scotland League fixtures scheduled to be played this Saturday with league leaders Wigtown and Bladnoch travelling to Sanquhar to play Nithsdale Wanderers for a contest that the Trammondford Park side should win comfortably. The Sanquhar side are not such a force this season as they have been in past seasons and it would be a surprise result if Wigtown did not take the three points from this encounter.

Newton Stewart entertain Upper-Annandale at Blairmount Park and will be hoping to do better than when the two sides met recently at Moffat and recorded a scoreless draw.

St Cuthbert Wanderers travel to Lockerbie to play Mid-Annandale for a match that looks like it could go either way although Saints will start as slight favourites to take the three points.

There is a local derby at Maxwelltown High School where Lochar Thistle and Heston Rovers lock horns in another match that could well go close and a share of the points is a distinct possibility.

Creetown take the long journey up the M74 to play Edusport Academy in Hamilton and may well have to be at their very best to take anything from this encounter.

Abbey Vale play hosts to Crichton at New Abbey and again a share of the points could be a possible outcome in this match although home advantage may just be enough for Vale to earn the three points.

On the evening of Tuesday, March 31, the South Challenge Cup semi-finals will take place with Heston Rovers and Queen of the South meeting at Palmerston Park and St Cuthbert Wanderers and Wigtown and Bladnoch facing each other at St Mary’s Park for a place in the Final. Both these matches kick-off at 7.30pm.

On the evening of Friday, April 3, Mid-Annandale and Fleet Star play a league match at Lockerbie with a very even match expected.
