Andy Stirling’s second half strike was enough to separate the sides at Forthbank and get the Blues back to winning ways after going down 1-0 to Edinburgh City at Stair Park last Saturday.
Stranraer’s hectic schedule continued last night (Thursday) at home to Stenhousemuir, but they were given some recovery respite when their Scottish Cup tie with Hibernian was pushed back 24 hours to Sunday because of the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral.
Boss Stevie Farrell was delighted with the win at Forthbank.
He said: “It was a fantastic, dedicated performance away from home against a right good side. There’s nothing between the top five or six sides, each is capable of beating one another. We said to the lads ‘let’s go and put ourselves back in the race’ and that’s exactly what we’ve done.”
