The Stewartry small schools football tournament has been a resounding success.

Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Leisure and Sport team hosted another great small schools football event at St Peter’s Primary.

Teams came from Gelston, Kirkgunzeon, Colvend, Palnackie, Auchencairn, Lochrutton, Dalry and St Peter’s to battle for the Stewartry small schools championship. The teams were split into two leagues, with Dalry and Gelston winning through to the final.

The final was a closely contested game in which Dalry scored the all-important goal to take the small schools title back to the Glenkens.
