Cup challenge for Newton Stewart and Wigtown

This Saturday sees a mixture of South of Scotland League matches and Southern Counties FA Challenge Cup fixtures being played weather permitting.

St Cuthbert Wanderers have the opportunity to take closer order at the top of the league table with a match at Sanquhar against Nithsdale Wanderers while the other table toppers Wigtown and Bladnoch and Edusport Academy lock horns in a cup-tie at Galabank.

Also in the Challenge Cup Newton Stewart entertain Lochmaben at Blairmount Park for a match the home side will be looking to progress from although the Creesiders will have to be at their very best to see off the challenge of the Burgh boys who are settling well into South football.

First and second in the league table meet in another first round tie as Abbey Vale and Lochar Thistle meet at New Abbey.

Creetown entertain Upper Annandale at Castle Cary Park where the home side will be looking to kick on from their last successful outing while Threave Rovers should be too experienced for bottom placed Dumfries YMCA. Mid-Annandale play hosts to Heston Rovers at Lockerbie for a contest that looks very evenly balanced and one where a share of the points could be a likely outcome.
