Sorbie Open Pairs
The open pairs tournament held on the 31st May was a great success. A very warm and sunny day saw eighteen pairs take part. The prize money was shared between Geordie Fenion and Dan Maxwell, and Mark McKie and Brian Harvey.
Sorbie Green President, Michael McGuinness, said: “It was a great tournament played in the usual friendly and good natured spirit. It was a good turnout, with players from as far afield as Gatehouse and Creetown taking part.
“I’d like to thank the Sorbie Green members who helped on the day. A few members worked very hard, and the teas were the usual high standard. Thanks also to the members of other local bowling clubs for supporting the event. May I give a special mention to Martin Jolly Truck Hire Ltd and From Ewe to You for sponsoring the event, and for their continued support of Sorbie Bowling Club.”
