Clean sweep for rejuvenated Newton Stewart Golf Club

Newton Stewart Golf Club has had a very successful season.

Johnstone & Bobby Hughan.

The men’s section of the club has won both A & B leagues; the senior league and the Wigtownshire Foursomes team event.

The club is going from strength to strength, all teams having youth and experience on their side. This season Connor Benniwith won the South of Scotland Championship played at Stranraer; Robert Heughan was successful in the South of Scotland Boys Championship played at Newton Stewart and five boys have played throughout the season, for the South of Scotland Youth Team.

Newton Stewart Golf Club, with its junior and senior development programme has been successful in attracting new members and many returning members.

Successful funding from Awards For All has developed new practice areas and supported professional coaching. The new confidence regarding the club’s future has allowed the committee to plan course and clubhouse improvements for the forthcoming seasons.
