Around 16 youngsters keen to learn to curl were thrilled at the weekend to receive specialist coaching from Scottish and World junior champion Gregor Cannon at Stranraer Ice Rink.
Twenty-two-year old student Gregor, who won the world title with Team Mouat in Copenhagen in March, gave up his time to help the group learn the finer points of the game.
Another session has been organised for November 13 when Gregor’s mum Christine, a two-time senior world champion will lead the coaching when anyone aged 10 -21 from the Galloway Province area can attend.
The Galloway Province covers the parishes of Kirkmabeck, Minnigaff, Penninghame, Kirkcowan, Wigtown, Kirkinner and Glasserton. All you need is warm, loose fitting clothes and clean, flat, rubber-soled shoes (trainers are ideal) to change into for curling.
