Nineteen-year -old football coach Stacey Duff from Newton Stewart is hoping to fulfil her dream this summer by going to California to coach American kids.

Stacey’s trip is organised by the Eurosoccer organisation but she has to raise £1000 for the trip and is looking for help from Gazette readers to made her dream come true. Hardworking Stacey does volunteer work for the community learning and development team around local schools, is head coach of Galloway Thistle girls and studies sports coaching and fitness at Dumfries College, She is also a youth worker and a casual couch with the council’s active schools programme.

Stacey told The Galloway Gazette: “I am looking for ways to fundraise around my community to help me pay for my flights and visa which will be roughly £1000.

“I love new challenges and I am really looking forward to spending my summer in another country coaching the sport I adore. The skills I learn over there I will bring back to use in my community.
