WHITHORN Primary School pupils Phoebe Townsend, Nathan Astbury and Robert Smith all did well at the Mega Final Chess Tournament in Glasgow on May 8.

In the chess tournament Phoebe, 8, won a magnificent trophy and got a rosette plus a certificate and also qualified to go to the Mega final in Derby. Robert, 8, got two and a half points as well as a certificate. He won two games and drew one game. Ten-year-old Nathan got two stalemates (draws). Nathan also got a certificate and a total of two points.

Each and every one of them had six games.
