Ward reopens after norovirus outbreak

Ward 18 of Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary has been reopened following an outbreak of norovirus.

A total of 21 staff and patients reported symptoms of the vomiting bug and infection control measures were put in place last week.

But on Wednesday of this week, Elaine Ross, infection control manager, said: “I would like to thank all our staff and visitors for their continued cooperation and support during the outbreak. To have contained this highly contagious virus in one ward is a credit to all staff concerned.”
