The newly relocated Post Office in the Spar shop in Port William welcomed some unexpected guests recently.

Two Viking longships arrived in the harbour carrying 22 young Viking warriors.

The Port William Primary 4/5 pupils then entered the Spar shop and demanded to search for missing pieces of Viking treasure.

Once the treasure was successfully retrieved, the mighty Vikings returned to school singing their Viking marching songs.

The pupils have been studying Vikings this term and the “raid” achieved the task they had been set of planning and staging an authentic Viking “attack”.
