FOLLOWING the closure of two Wigtownshire Post Offices this week, residents of Kirkcolm and Glenluce are being told all is being done to reinstate services.
Kirkcolm Post Office served its last customer on Thursday and just three days later, Glenluce Post office followed suit.
Emergency provisions have been set up in Kirkcolm village hall meanwhile and hopes remain high that thea new store due to open later this month in Glenluce can house a Post Office.
Morag Turnbull, Post Office Ltd External Relations Manager said: “Regrettably, due to circumstances outwith Post Office Ltd’s control and the premises being withdrawn from use, we had no option but to temporarily close. Post Office Ltd would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience as a result of this unavoidable temporary closure.
“Post Office Ltd is committed to providing Post Office services and would like to assure our customers that every effort is being made to restore a service as soon as possible.”
