AN 18-year-old who beat his ex-girlfriend so badly she lost consciousness will be sentenced next month. Alexander McShane, of High Street, Whithorn, admitted assaulting Ashley Landers on June 29 after attacking a car she was in.
The court heard from fiscal depute Paula Forbes that Miss Landers and McShane had broken up six months previously, and that on this evening he had witnessed her drive by on Albert Street, Newton Stewart, in a friend’s car before he kicked out as it passed, causing £335 worth of damage.
The car stopped and Miss Landers got out, at which point McShane pushed her to the ground and kicked her in the head. Her friends pulled him off before he turned on one of them and punched him.
Miss Landers was taken to hospital in Stranraer by her friends, where a doctor found she had no fractures but had bruising to her face, a sore jaw and blurred vision.
Sheriff Kenneth Robb deferred sentence until January 15 to obtain background reports.
