Teen thief jailed after robbery spree

A Stranraer teenager who broke into a number of buildings and cars in and around the town was jailed for 210 days this week.

Liam Scott, of 21 King Street, admitted stealing from some of the premises he broke into between January and May this year, including taking an iPhone from a parked tanker, money from the Kings Coaches depot, a hammer from a boat, a laptop and electric razor from a house and money from a parked Ford Transit.

Sheriff Kenneth Robb told Scott, sentencing at Stranraer Sheriff Court on Tuesday, said: “The bottom line is that you’re just a threat and a problem to the community.

“People can’t put anything down without you coming along and taking it.”
