THE body of a Stranraer man believed to have headed to Arran on a hillwalking expedition has been found on the island.

Police say the body of 31-year old Paul Henry was recovered from the mountain area of Glen Rosa, near Brodick, on Wednesday afternoon. His family have been informed.

A post mortem examination will take place to establish how Mr Henry died but police said there did not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.

Paul was last seen at 5pm on Saturday 5 May at the Ardrossan Ferry Terminal. At around 12.45pm, on Sunday 6 May he contacted a family member and said that he was in the Brodick area of Arran.
