LOCH Ken Gallery and Cafe has closed its doors for good following a difficult trading year.
Owners of the loch-side business in Parton Stables took to the internet this week to announce its closure, citing a downturn in trade and also requirements by the council to amend facilities for disabled customers as their main reasons for closure.
A statement read: “Lorna, Allan, Amber, Shonagh, Kerrie, Nicole, Rachael and all the gang who have helped run the business these past two years would like to offer their sincere thanks all our customers for their support and valued custom in this time. It has been a fun-filled and rewarding journey but due to the reasons listed we have taken the difficult decison to close the venue and try something new.”
The Olympics, poor weather and a neighbourhood dispute was also listed as a reason for bowing out.
The statement continued: “But hey the good news is that Allan will be opening a new refurbished studio/gallery in the Old Stables next season where he will focus strictly on his best of his work and the finest of coffee, albeit with restricted opening hours.”
