Reward for return of tools after thieves strike in Machars

Police are investigating after thieves struck in the Machars last week and one victim has offered up a £1000 reward for the safe return of his tools and a name of the thief.

Stealing a number of tools from parked vans and workshops, the thieves took a Fukuda FRE207 Laser Level and a Geo Fennel FMR700 Machine control receiver from a pickup in Wigtown on 4 February.

And Police Scotland is making enquiries into further tool thefts in the region after a workshop at a house in Main Street, Kirkinner was broken into sometime overnight Wednesday 4/Thursday 5 February. Two Husqvarna chainsaws, a Paslode nail gun and a 9” grinder were stolen in the raid. The value of the property is around £750.

More tools were taken from sites across the region towards Dumfries and anyone with any information or who may be offered such tools for sale are being asked to contact police by calling 101 or contacting a local officer.
