Remembrance Sunday at Port William

Across the nation at 11am on Remembrance Sunday poppy wreaths were laid at memorials to remember those who had died during armed conflict.

The Machars village of Port William was no different and the man who stepped forward with the first poppy wreath was Arctic Convoy veteran, 91-year-old Johnny McBryde, who recent received his long awaited Atlantic Star campaign medal from the British Government for his service during World War Two.
