Four Galloway food businesses have been shortlisted in the annual Food Awards Scotland 2015.
Stranraer’s Caledonian Cheese Company, Gatehouse’s Cream o’ Galloway, Castle Douglas-based Glenn Urr Ice Cream and Galloway Farmhouse Cheese in Sorbie have all been recognised in the industry’s national awards list.
And now the final call on who’s the cream of the crop will go down to a public vote with the winners being announced on 17 August.
Galloway Farmhouse Cheese and Caledonian Cheese Company are both nominated under the ‘dairy provider of the year’ category with Cream o’ Galloway and Glen Urr under the ‘frozen food provider’ section.
The awards are targeted at the whole Scottish food industry, including the individuals serving food, various professionals and specialist establishments such as Italian, Mexican and Indian restaurants, as well as local suppliers across the country.
