Staff and customers of the Cree Inn have raised more than £800 for a children’s charity with a trio of fundraising events.

The events were held at the Minnigaff pub over three weeks, while quiz sheets were sold and donation boxes were put out to collect money for Yorkhill Children’s Charity.

Four businesses in total helped out by selling a quiz sheet during the day, while dominoes and pool competitions were held at night in the Cree Inn on Friday, April 19 and 26.

Sandra Davidson, a member of staff and the driving force behind the fundraising, said: “Thanks go to the Cree Inn for hosting the events, Douglas the clown for filling the balloons, customers who donated raffle prizes, everyone who came along and supported the events, and Gillian Brown for marking and scoring at the quiz night.”

Local business Pro Touch Decorators donated all prize money, the majority of which was immediately donated to the pub’s campaign for Yorkhill Children’s Charity.

Sandra added: “A massive thank you to Sandy and David of Pro Touch Decorators. Without their sponsorship, these events would not have raised nearly as much as they did.”

The quiz held last Friday night brought together 14 teams and ended with the joint winners handing their prize money back to add to the charity fund total of £820.
