Kirkcudbright Pre-School group held its spring sponsored walks around Kirkcudbright in March and raised a fantastic £548.75!
Many thanks to everyone in the community who supported this venture.
Also in March, the group was visited by the Care Inspectorate team and a very good report was received about the facility.
The Care Inspectorate felt that the service provides a stimulating environment for children to grow and develop their life skills, which is child centred and allows service users to make choices and lead their own learning. Children have many opportunities for outdoor learning within the outdoor area and garden.
Warm, caring relationships have been established between staff, parents/ carers and children. The children are very happy and comfortable within the service enjoying a variety of activities and experiences which extend their learning and development.
The service shows a commitment to further develop and maintain the very good quality offered to children and parents/carers.
The management and staff team are committed to the on-going development of the service and to improving learning and teaching to enhance children’s experiences. In April the local Tesco store ran a competition to design St. George’s Shield.
Members of the group took part and the winning shield was designed by Abbi, who is pictured below with her prize.
At the moment the group is busy preparing for its fundraising event on Saturday 7th of May when they are holding a coffee morning from 10am–2pm in St. Andrew’s & St. Cuthbert’s Church Hall, Kirkcudbright (behind the police station).
Tempest portrait photography will be present; on sale will be tray bakes and used toys, along with a raffle and silent auction.
Everyone is welcome, and any items for sale can be left at the group between 9.00am – 3.00pm Monday – Thursday. For further information about either the event or the group, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
