Police warning over bogus callers

Police are warning people in the region to be on alert for bogus callers.

There are various scams operating at the moment that are asking people for their bank account information and payment details. The police have asked that no one give out any personal information to these callers.

A new campaign against bogus callers will be launching in April and May when these type of calls are at their peak.

If anyone receives a suspicious phone call, please report it to the police on 101.

Other scams targeting households in the area just now concern phone calls from fraudulent computer companies to residents telling them their computer has a virus and letters telling people they have won money in bogus lottery draws.
