Plans for Johnston School

ELECTED members will be asked to agree plans to turn a part the former Johnston Primary School in Kirkcudbright into office accommodation at next week’s council planning meeting.

The applicant, Mrs J M Boyd, wants to alter three former classrooms in the B listed building to create offices. The remainder of the building would be used in connection with childcare which does not require change of use planning permission.

A new school was built in Kirkcudbright as an alternative site to Johnston School and the building has not been in use since 2010. The former school also lies within the Kirkcudbright Outstanding Conservation Area.
