Prospective students have the chance to find out more about University of the West of Scotland’s range of full and part-time courses at its forthcoming Dumfries Campus Open Day on Thursday 2nd October 2014 (4-7pm).
Not only will information on the University’s undergraduate and postgraduate study options be covered at this information event, but visitors will also have an opportunity to take a guided tour of the campus and to meet with local staff and students to find out more about courses, careers, facilities and student life.
Caroline Bell, University of the West of Scotland’s Marketing Manager, said: “The aim of the Open Day is to provide prospective students with information on the full range of options available at our Dumfries Campus, so that they can make an informed choice about their future studies.
“This event is open to all and is a great way to find out about full and part-time courses available at our Dumfries Campus. Full-time options include Business, Applied Enterprise, Computing, IT, Childhood Studies, Adult Nursing, Mental Health Nursing and Social Work. Part-time courses are also available in some of these areas and in other areas such as Health and Alcohol and Drug Studies. Introductory courses include First Steps to Nursing and Summer Schools in Business and Computing, and as well as supporting applications for full-time degree programmes in these areas, also provide a valuable induction to UWS.
Potential students are advised to apply as early as possible for part-time courses starting in January 2015 and for full-time courses starting in September 2015. Advisers will be able to provide information on application processes, entry requirements, funding and student support.”
Visitors do not need to book in advance and can simply drop-in anytime between 4pm and 7pm. Campus tours will start at 5pm and 6pm.
Anyone who is interested in finding out more but is unable to attend is invited to get in touch to arrange an alternative time to visit. Email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01387 345845.
Open Days are also taking place at UWS campuses at Hamilton, Paisley and Ayr campuses in October for anyone looking to find out about options in Business, Computing, Creative and Cultural Industries, Education, Engineering, Health, Nursing and Midwifery, Science, Social Sciences and Sport and Exercise.
