MSP accused SNP of abusing communication channels

Jim Hume, Scottish Liberal Democrat MSP for South Scotland, has accused the SNP of abusing public sector communication channels to promote political messages on independence.

The MSP’s claim comes as Health Secretary Alex Neil wrote yesterday (19th August) to NHS staff about pension arrangements under independence.

Mr Hume said: “It’s entirely inappropriate for the SNP to be peddling political statements to NHS staff through NHS mail systems.

“This abuse of public sector staff communication channels by the SNP is nothing more than a blatant attempt to promote political messages about independence.

“The SNP should be condemned for continuing to use the NHS and its hard working staff as a political pawn in their independence campaign.”
