Dumfries and Galloway MP Russell Brown has welcomed the launch of a campaign to promote the sale of former ferry terminal in Stranraer.
The East Pier site in Stranraer has been empty since Stena Line moved its operations to site near Cairnryan.
Commenting on the campaign, Russell Brown MP said: “I fully support this campaign. When Stena moved to Cairnryan it kept many of the jobs in the area which was welcome but we can’t deny it was a blow to Stranraer. By working together to market the site I am hopeful that Stena and the council can bring in fresh investment which will provide much needed jobs and boost to the local economy. It is a site with lots of potential so I am hopeful that the campaign will succeed in not only finding a buyer sooner than later, but one that will ensure it is developed in a way consistent with the Stranraer masterplan.”
