The McMillan Hall in Newton Stewart will be officially opened to the public on Friday, 20 March.
The building has been closed since last May for major refurbishment works, the first intensive works since its opening in late December 1884.
The official re-opening of the refurbished facility by Councillor Thomas McAughtrie, Chairman of Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Community and Customer Services Committee will take place at 2pm on Friday to which you are invited.
The building still consists of a meeting room, main hall, upper and lower kitchen and is now ready to be used by various clubs and organisations who were rehomed for the duration of the wroks.
Perhaps you or someone you know has a story to tell about one of the historic events held in the hall or has memories and photographs that you would be happy to share with others on the day. If so, Dumfries and Galloway Council would like to hear from you on 030 33 33 3000.
