Wigtownshire artist Lou Randall is showing an exhibition of oil, watercolour and pastel paintings in the Tolbooth Art Centre, Kirkcudbright.
Largely self-taught, Lou retired to our region eight years ago, after a career as a lecturer in mental health.
Her exhibition – “Wanderings in Scotland and Italy” – runs until August 19. It captures the light and mood of the subjects she has painted, which include landscapes from Wester Ross and around Fort William, as well as Italian townscapes including San Gimignano, Florence and Casole d’Elsa.
The exhibition also includes a number of wildlife studies from the Machars, including watercolours of birds and butterflies.
Lou Randall’s exhibition is open daily from 10-5pm and 2-5pm on Sundays. Admission is free.
