Primary seven pupils from Kirkcudbright Primary School recently visited the Scottish Parliament after the seat of power featured as the class project.

The pupils had made leaflets about an MSP of their choice and sent them off to the MSPs chosen, who kindly replied.

One pupil, Alexander McCormick, visited the parliament for First Minister’s Questions a week ago and the school emailed former First Minister Alec Salmond and MSP Aileen McLeod, who both offered to meet him.

Alexander and his family were met by Aileen after First Minister’s Questions and shown around the building. They bumped into Nicola Sturgeon in the garden lobby and she took selfies with them before Alexander was taken to meet Alec in his office where they spoke about the leaflet he had made, among other things.
