Kirkcudbright’s summer evening programme drew to a close on Saturday night with the grand tattoo drawing close to 5,000 spectators.
The annual spectatcle across St Cuthbert Street welcomed the Imps Motorcycle Display Team as well as pipe bands and Highland dancers from across the region.
Local lass Gemma Caygill was given the time of her life by volunteering to take part in the Imps’ display and was proudly hoisted atop their pyramid in front of the crowds.
Lone piper Billy McGoldrick led the haunting solo from Castle McLellan before a firework display lit up the skies above the region’s Artists’ Town.
